Counselling
I provide counselling for adults and families seeking support for a wide range of issues, and have experience working with;
* Chronic stress/anxiety/panic * Depression/mood disorders * Substance use, including alcohol and drugs
* Trauma/ Post Traumatic Stress * Grief and loss * Emotional Issues/self regulation
* First Nation's Issues * Parenting/Separation/Divorce * Disordered eating, self esteem
* Life transitions * Sexual orientation * Spirituality/meaning/purpose
Consulting/Contracted Services/Workshops
I am available to provide consultation, contracted services and workshop presentations upon request. I have the ability to teach and facilitate workshops on the following topics: mental health (e.g., effects of chronic stress, anxiety, depression); trauma and trauma informed practise, harm reduction, substance use issues, communication skills, parenting after separation and grief and loss.
Appointments and Fees
Individual counselling sessions are $135/hr and Couples and Families sessions are $160/hr.
Payment is due at the time of each session, either by Interac e-transfer or credit card. I require 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment, otherwise you may be charged a fee.
I operate on a fee for service basis and my counselling fees include our time in session and other necessary preparation time, including record keeping. I am pleased to offer a sliding scale in some situations.
Consulting/Contracted Services/Workshop Presentation rates vary and are discussed at the time of request.
Complimentary Consultation
Please contact me to arrange a complimentary 20 minute phone consultation; clients report this is a great opportunity to share briefly about their main concerns and ask questions. There is no obligation to return.
Insurance
The services provided by a registered social worker are often reimbursed by Extended Health Care Plans. Please inquire with your provider to determine if you are eligible under your plan. A receipt will be provided for submission and reimbursement.
I am able to bill DIRECT to several insurance providers for individuals with approved counseling benefits with the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP), First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and for families with Autism Funding.
